ABOUT US
Pickering & Chatto has been dealing in rare books for the best part of two centuries. Since 2006 we have been based in Mayfair’s New Bond Street, and have a stock of some 1800 books, principally in the fields of philosophy, social sciences, European literature, science, medicine, law, politics, and women’s studies, from the fifteenth century to the first decades of the twentieth.
Our offices are open from 9.30-5.30, Mondays to Fridays, and by appointment.

We produce a number of catalogues each year, along with lists on various subjects. Printed catalogues can be ordered by emailing us, or viewed and downloaded here.
Recent catalogues have covered subjects including philosophy, 19th and 20th century feminism, Russian and eastern European books, medicine, and private and public libraries and reading societies.
In addition, short general bulletins and lists on particular subjects will also appear from time to time on our website; recent topics include law, Voltaire, and David Hume.
We also exhibit at a number of book fairs, both in the UK and overseas, including the ABA fairs at Olympia and Chelsea, and the International fairs in California and New York. Our next fair is the California Antiquarian Book Fair in Pasadena, from February 10-12. Click here for more details.
